Slip
Scott Lund

Was a young man
Alone I'd stand
Determined I'd be
A one man band

But then one day
I turned around
Well who's this
Moved into town

She seems so nice
And looks so fine
Would be so easy
To slip this time

Sat down talking
Laughing, drinking
Trying to find out
What she's thinking

Not much longer
Sitting in the car
Heading to her place
It's not very far

She sure is nice
Looks so fine
Could it be that
I'm slipping this time

Come in sit down
Relax stay awhile
No sense leaving
She said with a smile

Come on lets drink
Listen to tunes
Gaze at the stars
Dream at the moon

She sure is nice
Sure looks fine
Believe me I am
Slipping this time

She said Let's stay
Just you and I
Watch the world
Slip right on by

Lay down with me
In your arms,  She said
You got me hooked
With that boyish charm

She sure is nice
Sure looks fine
No doubt about it
I've slipped this time

Ten years later
She's still my wife
Got to admit
Been a good life

Turned out fine
For this young man
Who thought he'd stay
A one man band
